Inleiding
In overeenstemming met de artikelen 12, 13 en 14 van de EU-verordening 2016/679 betreffende de bescherming van natuurlijke personen met betrekking tot de verwerking van persoonsgegevens en betreffende het vrije verkeer van dergelijke gegevens (hierna de “AVG”), legt deze privacyverklaring ( hierna “de Kennisgeving”) uit hoe het CREATE Lab van de Universiteit van Amsterdam persoonsgegevens verzamelt, verwerkt en beschermt in relatie tot het Archiving COVID-19 Communities project. Het Archiving COVID-19 Communities-project heeft tot doel documentatie te verzamelen over hoe individuen en gemeenschappen de Corona-crisis ervaren, ingediend door gebruikers via de website Archiving COVID-19 Communities https://covid19communities.humanities.uva.nl/.
1) Wie zijn wij?
Het CREATE Lab is onderdeel van het Amsterdam Institute for Humanities Research aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. De Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) is een openbare instelling voor hoger onderwijs en onderzoek onder toezicht van het Ministerie van Onderwijs en Cultuur.
De UvA is gevestigd aan het Spui 21, 1012 WX Amsterdam. Ons postadres is Postbus 19268, 1000 WX Amsterdam. Eventuele vragen kunnen worden gemaild naar avg (at) uva (dot) nl.

2) Waarom verwerken we uw persoonlijke gegevens?
Het CREATE Lab van het Amsterdam Institute for Humanities Research beheert het platform Archiving COVID-19 Communities voor het verzamelen en verwerken van herinneringen aan de pandemie, uitsluitend voor onderzoeksdoeleinden. Het CREATE Lab wil de gebruikers van het platform een manier bieden om hun herinneringen bij te dragen. Het Archiving COVID-19 Communities-project is geïnspireerd op de ‘Rapid Response Collecting’-benadering die al decennia wordt gebruikt in de publieke geschiedenis en de museale context – voornamelijk als een manier om die verhalen, materiële cultuur, digitale creaties en andere efemere documentatie van historische gebeurtenissen te verzamelen. De verzamelde items bieden historici en andere onderzoekers een unieke manier om de COVID-crisis te bestuderen, aangezien deze items de praktijken en perspectieven van ‘gewone’ mensen weerspiegelen die vaak niet worden gedekt door traditionele archiefbronnen.
Persoonsgegevens worden binnen het Archiving COVID-19 Communities-project om twee redenen verwerkt: allereerst verzamelen en gebruiken we de e-mailadressen van gebruikers om met hen in contact te komen indien we aanvullende vragen hebben over hun bijdragen. Gebruikers zijn vrij om te beslissen om contactgegevens op te geven; dit is niet vereist voor het indienen van een bijdrage. Verder verzamelen we bijdragen van onze gebruikers door middel van uploads die de vorm kunnen aannemen van tekst, afbeeldingen, video’s of audio-opnames die we gebruiken voor onderzoek naar Corona-reacties.
3) Welke persoonlijke gegevens verzamelen en verwerken we verder?
De verwerkte persoonsgegevens omvatten:
– voornaam, achternaam
– e-mailadressen
– fotos
– videos
– tekstuele bijdragen
– audio-opnamen
4) Hoe hebben we persoonlijke gegevens verzameld?
We verzamelen de persoonlijke gegevens zoals die rechtstreeks door de gebruiker via het platform zijn verstrekt.
5) Op welke rechtsgrondslag verwerken wij uw persoonsgegevens?
De wettelijke basis voor de verwerking van uw persoonlijke gegevens is artikel 6.1 van de AVG: a) “de betrokkene heeft toestemming gegeven voor de verwerking van zijn of haar persoonlijke gegevens voor de verwerking van uw persoonlijke gegevens op de website.”
6) Wie zijn de ontvangers van uw persoonlijke gegevens?
E-mailadressen en namen zijn alleen beschikbaar voor onderzoekers van de Universiteit van Amsterdam die op onze website staan vermeld.
Teksten, afbeeldingen, video’s en audio-opnamen worden niet gepubliceerd zonder verdere toestemming, behalve voor geanonimiseerde citaten in onderzoekspublicaties.
Bijdragers kunnen beslissen of ze hun echte naam willen publiceren of een bijnaam / pseudoniem kiezen.
7) Dragen we uw persoonlijke gegevens over buiten de Europese Unie?
Uw Persoonsgegevens worden verwerkt binnen de Europese Unie.
8) Hoe lang bewaren we uw persoonlijke gegevens?
De door u verstrekte Persoonsgegevens worden bewaard gedurende een periode van 10 jaar die nodig is om het onderzoeksproject uit te voeren en langer in de context van mogelijke archivering om ze te bewaren voor het nageslacht, aangezien de resulterende verzameling een belangrijke bron zal worden voor toekomstig onderzoek naar de Corona-epidemie.
9) Wat zijn uw rechten met betrekking tot de verwerking van uw persoonsgegevens?
Volgens de AVG geniet u met name van de volgende rechten: recht op informatie, recht op toegang tot uw persoonsgegevens, recht op rectificatie, recht op verwijdering, recht op beperking van de reikwijdte van de verwerking, recht op bezwaar, recht op gegevensoverdraagbaarheid, recht om een klacht in te dienen. 10) Serverwerking
Deze website wordt gehost en bediend door de dienst “Netlify”. Netlify houdt logboeken bij over toegang, inclusief uw IP-adres, en bewaart deze minder dan 30 dagen. U kunt hun privacybeleid hier lezen.
11) Standaardfunctionaliteiten
Deze website bevat een contactformulier en een formulier om inzendingen voor het Archiving Covid 19-project te verzamelen.
CONTACTFORMULIER
U kunt ons contactformulier gebruiken om contact met ons op te nemen. Verplichte velden zijn uw naam en uw e-mailadres. Als u het contactformulier gebruikt, worden de gegevens verwerkt en opgeslagen bij de externe dienst Netlify. U kunt hun privacybeleid hier lezen.
AANMELDINGSFORMULIER
U kunt ons aanmeldingsformulier gebruiken dat beschikbaar is op https://covid19communities.humanities.uva.nl/share

12) Cookies
Cookies zijn tekstbestanden die op uw computer worden geplaatst om standaard internet log informatie en informatie over bezoekersgedrag te verzamelen. Wanneer u onze website bezoekt, kunnen we automatisch informatie van u verzamelen via cookies of vergelijkbare technologie (bijv. lokale opslag).

In accordance with Articles 12, 13 and 14 of the EU Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereafter the “GDPR”), this Privacy Notice (hereafter “the Notice”) explains how the CREATE Lab of the University of Amsterdam collects, processes and protects Personal Data in relation with the Archiving COVID-19 Communities project. The Archiving COVID-19 Communities project aims at collecting documentation on how individuals and communities experience the COVID-19 crisis submitted by users through the website Archiving COVID-19 Communities https://covid19communities.humanities.uva.nl/.
1) Who Are We?
The CREATE Lab is part of the Amsterdam Institute for Humanities Research at the University of Amsterdam. The University of Amsterdam (UvA) is a public higher education and research establishment, operating under the supervision of the Ministry for higher education.

2) Why Do We Process Your Personal Data?
The CREATE Lab at the Amsterdam Institute for Humanities Research runs the Archiving COVID-19 Communities platform for the collection and processing of memories about the pandemic crisis for research purposes only. The CREATE Lab wants to offer the users of the platform a way to contribute their memories. The Archiving COVID-19 Communities project is inspired by the “Rapid Response Collecting” approach that has been used in the public history and museum context for decades – primarily as a way to collect the stories, material culture, digital creations, and ephemera of historical events. The collected items offer historians and other researchers a unique way to study the COVID crisis as these items reflect the practices and perceptions of “ordinary” people that are often not covered by traditional archival sources.
Personal data is processed within the Archiving COVID-19 Communities project for two reasons: first of all, we collect and use the e-mail addresses of users to get in touch with them in case we have additional questions about their contributions. Users are free to decide to provide contact details; this is not required for submitting content. Furthermore, we collect contributions by our users through uploads that can take the form of text, images, videos or audio recordings that we use for research into Corona reactions.
3) Which Personal Data Do We Collect And Further Process?
The personal data processed includes:
– name, surname
– e-mail addresses
– photos
– videos
– text statements
– audio recordings
4) How Did We Collect Personal Data?
We collect the Personal Data as provided directly by the user through the platform.
5) On Which Legal Basis Do We Process Your Personal Data?
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is article 6.1 of the GDPR: a) “the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for the processing of your personal data on the website.”
6) Who Are The Recipients Of Your Personal Data?
E-mail addresses and names will be only available to researchers of the University of Amsterdam, which are listed on our website.
Texts, images, videos and audio recordings will not be published without further consent except for anonymised citations in research publications.
Contributors can decide if they want their real names published or choose a nickname/pseudonym.
7) Do We Transfer Your Personal Data Outside Of European Union?
Your Personal Data is processed within the European Union.
8) How Long Do We Store Your Personal Data?
The Personal Data provided by you are kept for a duration of 10 years which are necessary to conduct the research project and longer in the context of potential archiving to preserve them for posterity, as the resulting collection will become an important resource for future research on the COVID-19 epidemic.
9) What Are Your Rights With Regard To The Processing Of Your Personal Data?
According to the GDPR, you benefit notably from the following rights: right to be informed, right to access to your personal data, right to rectification, right to erasure, right to restrict the scope of the processing, right to object, right to data portability, right to lodge a complaint. 10) Server operation
This website is hosted and served with the service “Netlify”. Netlify holds access logs including your IP address and stores it for less than 30 days. You can read their privacy policy here.
11) Standard functionalities
This website contains a contact form and a form to collect submissions to the Archiving Covid 19 project.

You may use our contact form to get in touch with us. Required fields are your name and your email address. If you use the contact form the data will be processed and stored with the 3rd party service Netlify. You can read their privacy policy here.

12) Cookies
